Jakarta, August 2026 — Indo Fisheries Expo & Forum continues to strengthen its role as a strategic platform for Indonesia’s fisheries and aquaculture industry, connecting business with international stakeholders, market insights, and emerging opportunities across the global seafood value chain, particularly as evolving trade policies, market requirements, and competition among seafood producing countries continue to shape international market access and competitiveness.
Recent developments further highlight the potential for Indonesian seafood products to expand their presence in global markets. According to the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia (KKP), Indonesian seaweed and agar-agar products are exempt from the additional 10% Section 301 tariff imposed by the United States and remain subject to a 0% Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) tariff, creating favorable conditions for greater market access. The prospects also extend to other key commodities. Indonesian shrimp, for instance, is subject to a total tariff of approximately 13.90% in the U.S. market, supporting opportunities for further export growth. Other products, including crab and tuna, also benefit from favorable tariff conditions, while squid, cuttlefish, octopus, and tilapia present further potential for Indonesian exporters to expand their reach in international markets.

To explore these opportunities and strengthen its international engagement, the Indo Fisheries team will visit an international seafood exhibition in Singapore from 2–4 September 2026, held at Sands Expo and Convention Centre. The visit will provide an opportunity to observe developments across the global seafood sector, expand connections with international seafood companies, buyers, associations, and other industry stakeholders, and identify potential areas for business collaboration. The business trip is part of Indo Fisheries’ ongoing international engagement ahead of its 2027 edition, supporting its efforts to strengthen international connections and further facilitate business opportunities within the fisheries and aquaculture industry.
The next edition of Indo Fisheries Expo & Forum will take place on 21–23 July 2027 at Grand City Convex, Surabaya, Indonesia, alongside Indo Livestock, Indo Feed, Indo Dairy, and Indo Vet 2027. The event is set to bring together 300 exhibitors from 30 countries, including 10 international country pavilions, across an exhibition area of 5,169 square metres, and is expected to welcome 15,000 professional visitors over three days, providing a platform for industry players, buyers, distributors, investors, and other stakeholders to connect and explore business opportunities across the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
